A Phone Too Big
I like big phones. I bought the HTC EVO 4G when it first came out. At 4.3 inches, the screen seemed enormous. It was, compared to the other phones of the time. I continued using that phone (and several of the same size) for a few years.
Last year though, I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It was huge and it was great. Fantastic screen, battery life, and a great camera. Wicked fast, too.
Then you have a baby and you realize that one-handed operation is near impossible. Look, I’m 5’11” with long fingers and thumbs. Even with all of the tweaks to make it work better in one hand (Samsung will push everything to one side so it is easier to work with), simple things like unlocking my phone with a pin or taking a picture were a challenge.
So, I’m moving to a Moto X. Perfect size for my hands and it is inexpensive enough off contract so I can upgrade once the next set of cutting edge phones comes out around Q4.
